World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. Cases.gg increases as the level of the item rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.
The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon the reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best method to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Utilizing a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrading system lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items might require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
